I have no idea how many times this has been reported, but it’s absolutely hilarious.

The Daily Telegraph, a British serious business newspaper, ran a poll for its readers to contribute new designs for the Union Jack, the flag of Britain. Long story short, 2ch found out about it, and in the interest of world peace, decided to chip in and help out. The Daily Telegraph, of course, took notice.

The actual winner of the poll was designed by a Norwegian, sadly, but it’s still incredibly awesome. What was that anime licensor’s slogan a long time ago? “World Peace Through Shared Popular Culture”?

Louise Francois le Blanc de la Valliere, everyone’s favorite useless tsundere small-chested Welsh mage is the new dove, and the now ubiquitous leek now replaces the olive branch. The times, they are a’changin’, and the future’s so bright I gotta wear shades.
